Option 1: Chiang Mai base (easiest)
Best for first-timers and short trips.
- Stay 4–7 nights
- Add day trips (mountains, waterfalls, local villages)

Option 2: Chiang Mai + Pai (classic)
- Chiang Mai 3–5 nights + Pai 2–4 nights
- Great if you want a change of pace
Note: the road is very curvy—plan accordingly.
Option 3: Chiang Mai + Chiang Rai
- Add 2–4 nights in Chiang Rai for temples and tea hills
- Good if you like road trips and quieter towns
Option 4: Mae Hong Son Loop (advanced)
This is best for confident drivers/riders with time. If you’re unsure, do it with a driver or break it into small segments.
