TDAC is Thailand’s official online arrival card. For most non‑Thai travelers, it’s now a must‑do step before entering Thailand.
This guide focuses on what travelers actually need: who submits, when to submit, what details to prepare, and how to handle common problems (typos, no email, no internet).
TDAC: the quick rules
- Who submits: most non‑Thai nationals entering Thailand
- When: you can submit up to 3 days before arrival (including arrival day) — often described as within 72 hours
- Where: official portal: https://tdac.immigration.go.th
- Every entry needs a new TDAC: TDAC is one‑time use per entry.
If you still haven’t chosen your entry option, start here:
Who needs TDAC?
TDAC is generally required for:
- All non‑Thai nationals entering Thailand (including infants and children)
- Arrival by air, land, or sea
- Most entry types (visa exemption, tourist visa, long-stay visas, etc.)
Common exceptions include:
- Transit passengers who do not pass immigration (true airside transit)
- Border pass entries (specific border arrangements)
When can you submit TDAC?
Rule of thumb:
- Submit within 3 days before arrival (including arrival day).
Example:
- Arrive on May 5 → you can submit starting May 2.
Best practice:
- Do it 2–3 days before you fly so you have time to fix mistakes.
What you need to complete TDAC (prepare this first)
Have these ready:

Passport + identity
- Passport number, nationality, date of birth, name (spell exactly as on passport)
Trip details
- Arrival date
- Flight number (or border/vehicle details, depending on entry mode)
Thailand address
- Your first-night accommodation address (hotel/hostel/rental).
Tip: copy/paste the full address, not just the hotel name.
Contact
- Email address (the confirmation/QR is typically delivered electronically)
Health/travel declarations
- If prompted, answer honestly (recent travel history / health declarations).
Step-by-step: how to submit TDAC
1) Go to the official portal: https://tdac.immigration.go.th
2) Choose Submit Arrival Card
3) Enter your personal and passport details
4) Add travel details + your Thailand address
5) Review carefully (names and passport number)
6) Submit and save the confirmation (email + QR).
Bring your confirmation
- Keep the QR/confirmation on your phone, and take a screenshot as backup.
- Printing is optional but can be useful if your phone battery dies.
Update / fix mistakes (very common)
TDAC supports an Update function so you can correct many details before travel.
Recommended approach:
- If you made a small mistake (hotel address, minor travel detail): update it.
- If you made a critical identity error (passport number, name, nationality): submit again correctly and keep the newest confirmation.
The airline check-in desk can be strict. Fix identity mistakes before you reach the airport.
Families and groups
TDAC supports group submissions (useful for families).
Practical tips:
- Keep each traveler’s passport info handy
- Submit together so you can track confirmations easily
- Every traveler still needs their own TDAC record.
No smartphone or no internet?
Thailand has stated that travelers who cannot submit in advance may be assisted at designated help points at immigration checkpoints (intended for exceptional cases).
Still: do TDAC before travel if you can — airport help points can mean delays.
TDAC troubleshooting
- No confirmation email: check spam/junk → then re-check the portal/update page if available.
- Website errors: switch networks/browser, try later, and keep screenshots.
- Hotel changed: update TDAC with your new first-night address before travel.
- Multiple entries planned: remember you need a new TDAC each time you re-enter Thailand.
